WEB: SpaceX to Help Get the North Pole and High Latitude Areas Online

TWIRL 176: We Have a Diverse Set of Missions This Week in Rocket

One of the most interesting missions this week will be SpaceX's mission to launch two satellites for Space Norway as part of its Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission (ASBM).

SpaceX has deep experience with both Earth observation and satellite internet, as the world's leading provider of launch services and the only provider with an orbital class reusable rocket.

Starlink's Reach Extends to the Poles

After its race with OneWeb to cover the North Pole and other Arctic areas with satellite internet, SpaceX has made it to the other extreme. Starlink is a plan by SpaceX to put 12,000 satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) that offer high-speed, low-latency, cheap internet access to remote areas and underserved communities.

The launch of these two satellites for Space Norway is a significant step towards completing Starlink's global coverage. Once the constellation is complete, it will provide high-speed internet access to even the most remote parts of the world, including the North Pole and other high latitude areas.

Conclusion: SpaceX's mission to launch these two satellites is a testament to its commitment to providing global internet access. With Starlink, SpaceX is bringing the benefits of the internet to people who have never had it before, regardless of their location.
